Please find below information on events and activities taking place at or with the Niles Teen Center in the next couple of weeks.
1) Teen Center LOGO REDESIGN- Feedback Requested
The Teen Center staff is in the middle of re-designing the logo for the Niles Teen Center. We have attached the preliminary designs and would like your feedback.
Do you like one design over the others? Do you like one or two but think that they still need a little bit of work? Please let Mark know by the end of the week.
2) Great America Fright Fest Trip - Deadline Thursday, October 1
Trip on Columbus Day (No School)
Creepy creatures, ghosts and ghouls come to life for the annual Fright Fest at Six Flags Great America. Monster roller coasters and scary creatures are waiting for you. Join your friends on your day off from school at Chicagoland’s largest amusement park. Fee includes admission, transportation and supervision. Please remember to bring extra money for lunch, dinner, and extra activities. This trip may depart from a location other than the Niles Teen Center.

Cost: $60 for ticket, transportation, supervision
$25 for season pass holders, transportation and supervision

3) Teen Movie “Night OUT”- Friday, October 2- 7:00 pm- 9:30 pm- $8 each
Exclusive offer for Teen Center members! Are you looking for something fun to do on Friday nights? We’ve got the answer for you: Teen Movie Theater Nights. Enjoy a movie at AMC Theater - Golf Mill for $8 (price subject to change). Please bring extra money for snacks during the movie. Pre-registration is not required.
Movie Choice will be decided on Wednesday, September 30.
4) Staff Time Off
Mark will be taking a vacation day on Tuesday, September 29
Halley will be on vacation on Friday 10/2
5) Tues. Sept 22- NBA2K15 Tournament- 4:00 pm
Most Tuesdays at 4:00p.m., Nick will set up tournaments for video games and table games like Foosball, Air Hockey, Darts, NBA2K15 or Call of Duty 3. Prizes may be awarded to winners.
6) “Girl Talk” Continues on Wednesday, Sept. 23- 4:00-5:00 pm
Girl Talk is a group designed to meet the social emotional needs of teen girls. This group focuses on improving self-esteem, self-image, communication skills, conflict resolution, reducing stressors and addressing other issues teen girls face.
7) Haunted House Undertaking- Deadline Thursday, October 8
Get ready for a haunted house tour that will scare even the bravest of teens! Hop on the mini-bus as we chauffer you to 3 of the area’s best haunted attractions. Our trip will begin at Skokie’s Scream Scene, then off to St. Thecla’s Hair Razor Haunted Scenes and finally to St. Pascal’s ‘The Catacombs’ Haunted House - all in one night! We will stop for dinner at a local restaurant on our tour, so be sure to bring a little extra money for dinner or a snack. Price includes VIP Triple Fright Ticket admission at all 3 houses (a $50 value on its own) and a fast pass at each location - no waiting in those long lines! Transportation and supervision are included as well. This trip may depart from a location other than the Niles Teen Center.

8) Niles Family Resource and Wellness Fair
Saturday Oct. 10- 9:00 am to Noon at the Niles Senior Center
Come on out for this great public event to help Niles residents learn about available resources, ask questions and gain valuable insight on what is available in terms of goods and services in Niles. Vendors for this event will include utility companies, village departments, elected officials, local clubs and organizations. Attractions will include prizes/giveaways, a petting zoo, a bounce house, free exercise classes and more. See attached flyer for more information
9) Niles Public Library- Teen Events and Programs
The second-annual Fandom Fest takes place November 21. Teens are encouraged to come in costume and bring their fan art for display.

10) Halloween Social Dance Party at Interclub Academy of Dance
Friday, October 23
Interclub Academy of Dance would like to invite you to our Halloween Social Dance Party. The party will take place at Interclub Academy of Dance on October 23rd from 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm at 7350 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Niles. The Halloween Social is your opportunity to dance the night away with other students!
The dance party will include:
* a group lesson,
* dance performances by students and teachers,
* games and mixers,
* best Halloween costume contest,
* raffle drawing,
* lots of social dancing,
* snacks and beverages,
Admission tickets purchased in advance are $15 per person. Tickets at the door will be $20 per person.

11) New Phone Number for Niles Teen Center- 847-588-6900
The Village of Niles has upgraded the phone system for all village buildings and employees. The Teen Center has now been incorporated into that system.
- The Teen Center will now have a new general phone number of 847-588-6900.
- There is a new voicemail system. There are voicemail boxes for general teen center messages and a separate voicemail box for Mark. All voicemail messages will also be delivered to staff via email, which may allow for a more prompt response. If you have a question or concern, always leave a message, we will call you back.
- If there is an emergency, there will be an option on the main line voicemail to be directly connected to Mark or another on-duty staff member.
- The current emergency cell phone of 847-408-0585 will only be used for trips. Please do not call or text this number any longer.
- We now have a phone mounted in the kitchen specifically for teens to receive and make calls to their parents. If a parent calls to talk to their child, the call will be transferred to the kitchen and the child asked to go pick it up.
- The current phone number of 847-375-8949 will be forwarded to the new system for approximately the next 3 months.
