Flash Flood Watch issued September 18 at 10:52AM CDT until September 19 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Chicago

There will be a greater chance for flooding with the approaching area of showers and thunderstorms. This activity will arrive around 5pm and will continue through 8-9pm. Locally heavy rainfall, around 1.00-1.50" will be possible during this time. There could be a few stronger storms capable of wind gusts to 40-45 mph. Another round of showers and storms will arrive late in the evening, after 10-11pm, continuing into the overnight hours. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.00-1.25" will be possible.

AS A RESULT OF THE EARLIER RAINFALL AND EXPECTED HEAVY RAIN AGAIN THIS EVENING...CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR FLASH FLOODING TONIGHT AND ALREADY SATURATED SOILS COULD QUICKLY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING.
