The NWMC Transportation Committee met Thursday, March 26 and heard a presentation on Pulse, Pace’s new Arterial Rapid Transit (ART) project. Pace’s Supervisor of Long Range Planning David Tomzik and Community Relations Representative Steven Andrews discussed the agency’s planned network of 24 ART corridors and 11 expressway corridors. The first Pulse corridor will be built along Milwaukee Avenue from the Jefferson Park Transit Center in Chicago and continue with limited stops to Golf Mill Mall in Niles. Stations will be covered, fully accessible
and clearly marked with branding for both Pace and Pulse. The Corridor Advisory Group for the project will hold its first meeting on April 14. Public outreach for this project will also begin next month with the first public meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 22 at the Oasis Fun Center, 7877 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Niles. The Milwaukee Line, as it will be known, is expected to begin service in early 2017 with other corridors to follow.
