[ARCHIVED] 3-4 inches of snow expected tonight (2/5)

Niles is currently expecting 3-4 inches of snow tonight based on today's (2/5) weather service’s forecast. The Village of Niles Public Services Department will have two trucks out today spraying Beet Heet Severe on highways and snow and bus routes. This is part of the Village’s anti-icing program to help prevent the bonding of snow and ice to the pavement which results in safer roads at the beginning of a snow event. It also results in less road salt being needed during a snow storm. Beet Heet Severe is organic based and completely safe for residents and wildlife.
Visit the Snow and Ice page on the website to learn more about the Village of Niles snow and ice procedures.
