The Cook County Board of Review will be open for property valuation appeals for North, South, and Niles Townships from January 1, 2013, until February 5, 2013.
After a taxpayer files the one-page complaint, the board will analyze comparable properties to determine if the property is assessed at too high a value. Taxpayers may also present an appraisal, comparable properties, or any other evidence showing the fair market value of their property. There is no fee to appeal to the Board of Review.
The board is also pleased to continue the success of last year's launch of online filing at the Cook County Board of Review website.
