You are invited to attend the second annual Niles “Lights On Afterschool” Tile Art Project Unveiling Ceremony on Saturday, February 16 from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Golf Mill Mall near JCPenney and Surf City Squeeze.
The brief ceremony will showcase the 100 pieces of artwork created by youth from the Niles area. This artwork, themed “The Faces of Afterschool,” was converted to ceramic tiles and will be part of a permanent art installation at Golf Mill Shopping Center and sponsored by JCPenney. There will be a few comments from local community leaders and lemonade and cookies will be served.
The Niles Teen Center, in conjunction with Total Learning Community (TLC), is one of the more than 7,500 sites across the nation participating in the 13th annual nationwide celebration of after school programs. Our purpose is to send the message that after school is key to children’s success, and that we must keep the lights on and doors open after school.
Sincerely,
Mark Williams
