Niles, Ill. (May 28) – After a week of joining forces with Public Services crews, Trustee Joe LoVerde’s 30 years of construction experience paid off for the Village. LoVerde was able to locate the elusive water leak on Oakton Street with the help of Public Service crews yesterday morning.
LoVerde Construction started their dig where the water was observably coming up in the middle lane in front of 6922 Oakton St. LoVerde decided to make another hole to the south of that addresses and came across an abandoned gas service with water coming out of it. Nicor was called and they put a shut off on their abandoned gas service, which stopped the leak.
“It was enjoyable. It was like the olden days,” LoVerde said about the excavate.
LoVerde Construction is resurfacing the street in the parking lane today.
