[ARCHIVED] Mortgage Relief Project

As part of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Money Smart Week The State of Illinois is sponsoring an event to help homeowners who are struggling on their mortgage. The program has three goals – 1. Get consumers to meet with counselors or the lender sooner increasing the chance of success. 2. Provide education about the foreclosure process so homeowners can manage this crisis better. 3. Get homeowners to FREE counselors prior to being charged $3,000 to $12,000 and the possibility of the “company” disappearing with your money.

The event will be held April 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Palatine Village Hall, 200 E Wood St, Palatine IL 60067. The event is sponsored by Governor Pat Quinn’s Office; Illinois Housing Development Authority; Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Illinois Department of Employment Security; and Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s office.
