In the spirit of spring, residents like to get their yards back in order, especially after such a long and brutal winter. We would like to remind residents that the Village is here to help with branch pickup!
Please Note: Bundled branches need to be placed for pickup by 7:00 a.m. on the appropriate Monday and will be picked up during that week - not necessarily that Monday.
The first pickup will be:
EAST of Milwaukee Ave- April 7
WEST of Milwaukee Ave- March 31
-Branches must be less than 10 inches (25 centimeters) in diameter.
-Branches must be tied in bundles with twine or string (no wire or plastic).
-Please place bundled branches on the parkway, not on the street.
-No stumps, roots or attached dirt will be accepted.
-Yard waste bags or stickers are not needed to use this service.
-Branches must be tied in bundles no more than 18 inches (45cm) in diameter and 4 feet (1.2m) in length. One person must be able to lift bundle.
-Larger sized logs and branches should be disposed of by a tree service or landscaper hired by the homeowner.
WOOD CHIPS generated by the free branch collection program are available to residents, and can be picked up behind the Public Services Department main garage located at 6859 W. Touhy Ave (just east of Milwaukee). The pick-up area is at the east end of the employee parking lot, and can be entered off of Franks Avenue seven days a week.
*Please follow these requirements. Residents who do not bundle branches will be cited until they properly bundle them or remove them from their property*
