The Village of Niles declares a Heat Alert from Monday, June 27th through Wednesday, June 29th. The Temperatures expected to be in the mid-90s with uncomfortably high humidity.

A prerecorded Heat Alert message is being sent to all known Niles residents, 80 years and older. The combination of high heat and high humidity can be very dangerous, especially for seniors. Do not go outside unless absolutely necessary. Keep cool and drink plenty of water. Avoid physical activity. Avoid using your oven. Avoid eating heavy meals.

If you have a problem due to the hot weather, call 9-1-1 or the Police Department at 588-6500. The Fitness Center and Senior Center become the COOLING CENTER: Fitness Center open 5:30am–10pm; Senior Center open 8:30am–5pm.
