The Village of Niles declares a Heat Alert from Tuesday, July 19th, through Monday, July 25th. The temperatures expected to be in the mid-90s with uncomfortably high humidity.
A prerecorded Heat Alert message is being sent to all known Niles residents, 80 years and older. The combination of high heat and high humidity can be very dangerous, especially for seniors. Do not go outside unless absolutely necessary. Keep cool and drink plenty of water. Avoid physical activity. Avoid using your oven. Avoid eating heavy meals.

The Fitness Center and Senior Center become the COOLING CENTER: The Fitness Center is open 5:30am–10pm on weekdays and 7:00am–5pm on Saturday and Sunday; The Senior Center is open 8:30am–5pm on weekdays and closed on Saturday and Sunday.
