The Illinois Department of Transportation announced this week that a patching and resurfacing of Harlem Avenue, from north of Oakton Street to Dempster Street in Niles, will require intermittent daytime lane closures beginning Monday, April 25 (weather permitting).
The project also includes constructing new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps and is expected to be completed in July.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be alert for workers and equipment.
