[ARCHIVED] Cross-Connection Survey

Complete your Cross-Connection survey online now.

All Niles water customers are receiving a survey in the mail in February or March. The Village has contracted with BSI (Backflow Solutions Inc.) to evaluate Niles’ cross-connection control program. A “cross-connection” prevents water from flowing backwards from a residence or business and contaminating the Village’s drinking water system. All residents will need to respond to this survey within 10 days, even if a cross-connection is not present or required on your property.

Cross-Connections are required by the State of Illinois (IEPA) on properties with certain types of equipment on-site, most commonly underground lawn sprinkler systems. This survey is the first step towards making sure that your water system remains safe.
