Village Donates KN95 Face Masks to Culver School

On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, Mayor George D. Alpogianis was joined by Fire Chief Marty Feld, Director of Public Works Fred Braun and Police Chief Luis Tigera to distribute face masks to faculty, students and their families at Clarence E. Culver School. The Village of Niles received the KN95 masks as a donation, and is undertaking plans to distribute more of them to schools and seniors throughout the next few weeks. This effort comes at the end of summer when cold and flu season is starting, and wearing face masks is one of the best ways to slow the spread of germs and diseases like Covid-19.

Village officials met Superintendent Dr. Kosirog, Culver faculty, student council members and the 6th grade class to deliver the face masks. Student Council is making it a project to distribute the masks to all students and faculty. In her speech, Student Council President 8th Grader Elyse Tregoing thanked the Mayor and the Village for their dedication to safety and applauded efforts to work with the community.

Mayor Alpogianis spoke to students and thanked them for their part in getting through this pandemic. “The Village is very proud of our first responders and thanks all our community partners that work to keep residents safe and healthy, especially our children and seniors,” said Alpogianis.
