[6/4/2020 3/45 P.M.] A gas main was struck during construction on Howard Avenue near Oak Park Avenue, and there is currently a gas leak as a result. Nicor is making repairs, and traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction. Nicor was able to isolate any necessary shut offs, but a small number of homes may temporarily lose gas service. There are no concerns of public safety in the area.
If the situation changes, traffic flow may be further adjusted temporarily.
