[ARCHIVED] Virtual Memorial Day Ceremony

Memorial Day is an important day for us as Americans to pause and remember the brave individuals who gave their life to protect the freedoms we enjoy today. While the current pandemic has kept us separated and canceled many events, the Village of Niles will gather virtually on Monday to observe Memorial Day with a traditional ceremony.

A pre-recorded Memorial Day Ceremony, led by Niles Memorial VFW Post 3579 and the Village of Niles, will air on Niles TV on Monday, May 25 at 11:00 A.M. Due to COVID-19, there will not be a public, in-person ceremony at the Niles Veterans Memorial Waterfall on Memorial Day this year.

Here’s how to watch the virtual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday:

  • Niles TV: The ceremony will air at 11:00 A.M. and will replay periodically throughout the day. Niles TV is found on Comcast channel 6, AT&T U-Verse channel 99, and streaming 24/7 at www.vniles.com/NTV. The ceremony will replay at 4:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. on Memorial Day, and then periodically throughout the following days.
  • YouTube: The ceremony will "premiere" on YouTube at 11:00 A.M. Watch the premiere in real-time, or play it back any time on-demand. Visit the Village’s YouTube channel.
  • Facebook: The ceremony will "premiere" on the Village’s Facebook page at 11:00 A.M. Watch the premiere in real-time, or play it back any time on-demand. Visit the Village’s Facebook page.

Thank you to our armed forces for your service, and thank you to Niles Memorial VFW post 3579 for making this ceremony possible. For information on the COVID-19 pandemic, visit www.vniles.com/COVID-19.
