10/3/2018 - Work continues to provide affordable, reliable, and fresh Lake Michigan water from Evanston to the Village of Niles via the Morton Grove Niles Water Commission. Water main rehabilitation is currently taking place on Harlem Avenue at Dobson Street. This work is planned to take approximately one and half months, weather permitting. The outside northbound lane on Harlem will be closed from October 1st until mid-November. The motoring public should allow additional time when traveling through this area.
The MGNWC is currently building a new water main which will connect Morton Grove and Niles to a cheaper water supply from Evanston instead of Chicago. Visit the MGNWC web site for more information about this legacy project and the long-term savings associated with it.
