[ARCHIVED] Call for Artists: Art Stop 2018

The Public Arts & Culture Council encourages any artist to submit a design for the 2018 Art Stop program.   Design submissions are now being accepted for public bus stop benches around town to showcase artistic talent. There are 18 benches and each one needs a new look!

Deadline to submit is April 30, 2018. All details and the application are available on the village’s website at https://www.vniles.com/1085/Art-Stop-2018. Artists may submit more than one design.  The Council is looking for creativity and originality.

The material is MDF (fiberboard) and can be painted, printed on or designed any way as long as it stays functional as a safe bench for seating. A committee will review and determine the 18 design selections and each bench will have a different design.  Materials will be available for pick up at the Niles Public Services Department and artists will have four weeks to complete and deliver their project back to Public Services.

This program is an initiative of the Public Arts and Culture Council.  The Arts Council wants to showcase local artistic talent and give a platform for visitors, residents and shoppers to enjoy free art throughout town.
