New Staff- Michael Hulak
Mark recently hired Michael Hulak as the new male supervisor at the Teen Center. Michael replaces Nick Pizzo. Michael grew up in Buffalo Grove, Illinois and graduated from Palatine high school. He is currently attending Harper College as is pursuing a degree in Psychology. Michael enjoys playing basketball, video games, watching movies and chilling with friends. After Harper College, he will continue his education at Loyola University. Michael has a strong desire and passion for assisting and helping people whether that be emotionally, mentally or physically.
Game Tournament- Air Hockey- Wed. Sept. 13 - 4:30-5:30 pm
Most Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m., the Teen Center staff will set up tournaments for video games and table games like Foosball, Air Hockey, Darts, NBA2K16 or Call of Duty 3. Prizes may be awarded to winners.
Thursday, Sept. 14- 5:00- 6:00 pm- Speaker Series- Niles Police K-9 Unit
Officer Koch and K-9 unit Ace will offer a presentation including offender apprehension and drug detection.
Friday, Sept. 15- Teen “In House” Movie Night- 7:00-9:00 pm-$4 each
Come to the Teen Center for Teen Movie Nights. Stop by or call to recommend a teen movie. All movies will be PG or PG-13. 2 bags of chips, 1 soda and unlimited popcorn will be provided. Additional chips and soda will be available for purchase. No sign-up prior to event is necessary.

Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 (PG-13- Action/Adventure- 2 hour 15 min)- Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Vol 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and characters from the classic comics come to their aid as the Marvel Universe continues to expand.
Split (PG-13- Thriller- 1 hour 56 min)- Though Kevin has revealed 23 personalities to his psychiatrist, there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him—as well as everyone around him—as the wall between his compartments shatter apart. Boss Baby (PG- Animation- 1 hour 37 min)- An addition to the family in the form of a suit-wearing baby brother has 7-year-old Tim worried about losing this parents’ affection. But when a corporate plot threatens the balance of love in the world, Tim teams with his sibling to foil the scheme. (Alec Baldwin, Miles Bakshi, Tobey Maguire)
Ghost in the Shell (PG-13- SciFi-Action- 1 hour 47 min)- In this sci-fi thriller based on the popular manga series, cyborg policewoman the Major heads a task force dedicated to foiling cybercriminals and hackers—including one whose goal is to destroy the technology responsible for her existence. (Scarlett Johannson, Takeshi Kitano, Michael Pitt)
Fusion (Girls Group) continues on Tuesday Sept. 12 from 5:30-6:30 pm
This group is designed to meet the social and emotional needs of teens. They focus on improving self-esteem/self-image, communication skills, conflict resolution, reducing stressors and addressing other challenges teens face. The group is facilitated by Maria Escobar of Niles Family Services.

Boys Group continues on Thursday Sept. 21 from 4:15-5:00 pm

Great America Fright Fest - Columbus Day (No School)
Deadline is Thursday, Sept. 28- $65
Travel to Six Flags Great America, which this fall will feature monster roller coasters and scary creatures! Price includes ticket, transportation, and supervision. Make sure to bring extra money for food and souvenirs. This trip may depart from a location other than the Niles Teen Center. Trip offered with the Park Ridge Park District.

Fright Night- Haunted House Undertaking- Deadline is Wed. Sept. 27- $50
Get ready for a haunted house tour that will scare even the bravest of teens! Hop on the mini-bus as we chauffer you to 3 of the area’s best haunted attractions. Our trip will begin at Skokie’s Scream Scene, then off to St. Thecla’s Hair Razor Haunted Scenes and finally to St. Pascal’s ‘The Catacombs’ Haunted House - all in one night! We will stop for dinner at a local restaurant on our tour, so be sure to bring a little extra money for dinner or a snack. Price includes VIP Triple Fright Ticket admission at all 3 houses (a $50 value on its own) and a fast pass at each location - no waiting in those long lines! Transportation and supervision are included as well. This trip may depart from a location other than the Niles Teen Center. Trip offered with the Park Ridge Park District.

Niles Fire Department- Open House and Pancake Breakfast
Saturday, Sept. 30 from 8:00am to 1:00 pm
Come check out the newly renovated Fire Station #3 (6611 Jarvis- near Caldwell & Touhy). The event will include a pancake breakfast to benefit Niles Family Services, live demonstrations, station tours, kids obstacle course, and much, much more. See attached flyer.

You are now able to enter all Family Account Information
With your online account, you will be able to register and pay online for events and activities like movie night and trips. However, you will not be able to renew your membership. Memberships must be renewed in person through the Teen Center office.
Policy and Procedure Manual
Teen Center staff recently developed a policy and procedure manual. The information included is intended for teens and parents, as well as staff, explaining our standard procedures of operation and explaining behavior expectations and consequences for teen participants.

ID cards REQUIRED for TC Attendance
Remember, ALL Teens are REQUIRED to have and USE their teen center ID cards to CHECK-IN to the facility. Any need for a reprinted ID will be $5 each. If you don’t have your ID, you will create more work for Mark and he will have to manually check you in. The new MaxGalaxy software does not allow members to bypass the ID scanner, therefore ALL TEENS MUST USE THEIR ID CARDS TO CHECK-IN. Thanks!
