[ARCHIVED] Ad-Hoc Committee Appointed to Study Televising Board Meetings

Niles - July 20, 2011. Mayor Robert M. Callero appointed an ad-hoc committee to study Internet and cable video distribution of Village Board meetings.

During preliminary staff discussion, it was established that a well thought-out plan for the televising and internet streaming of Village Board meetings must be developed in an effort to provide the Village Board with solutions that are effective, include current and new video media outlets, and make economic sense. A study such as this will require an ad-hoc committee to investigate the parameters of existing facilities, the systems used by other municipalities, the systems available on the market, what the Village wants to accomplish, and then how to get there.

The Ad-Hoc Village Board Broadband Programming Committee members are MIS Director Bill Shaw, MIS Systems Engineer Steve Cusick, Assistant Village Manager Steven Vinezeano, and Village Telecommunications Consultant Stuart Chapman of Municipal Services and Associates.
