Ice Skating at Iceland Ice Rink- (Election Day-No School)
Deadline extended to Tuesday, November 8- 10:00 am
Join Mark, Maddie and the Teen Center as we enjoy a day of ice skating at the Niles Park
District’s Iceland Ice Rink during their Open Skate hours. We will walk from Golf Mill to Iceland and skate from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The Teen Center will be open to skating participants only from 12:00 to 2:45 p.m. if they choose not to go home after ice skating.

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m
Min/Max: 5/25
Cost: $3


Friday, November 11- “In House” Movie Night- 7:00- 9:00 pm- $4 each
Come to the Teen Center for Teen Movie Nights. Stop by or call to recommend a teen movie. All movies will be PG or PG-13. Bring a pillow or blanket and make yourself at home. Additional snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Fee goes toward additional supervision. No sign-up prior to event is necessary.

Food Waste in America
Tracy Williams will discuss the importance of identifying the amount of food wasted and how it impacts the American picture of hunger. She will talk about how food waste impacts the environment and help teens learn ways to reduce food waste. Tracy is a graduate of Dominican University with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.

Game Tournament- WWE 2K17- Tuesday, Nov. 8- 4:00-6:00 pm
Most Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m., the Teen Center staff will set up tournaments for video games and table games like Foosball, Air Hockey, Darts, NBA2K16 or Call of Duty 3. Prizes may be awarded to winners.

Teen Center supports Gemini Chromebooks!!!
Did you know that the Teen Center has 5 chargers for the Gemini chromebooks? Just ask staff to use one. We believe that by offering these chargers, an open WiFi network and knowledgeable staff will support student academic success. If you have homework, come work on it at the Teen Center. We are always here to help!!!

Toys for Tots Program and Food Drive Begins on Tuesday, November 1
The Niles Teen Center, in cooperation with the Village of Niles, will participate in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves “Toys for Tots” program. We will be collecting toys to be distributed to less fortunate children in the Chicagoland area. Please do not bring any stuffed animals or home-made items. All toys must be in their original packaging and no gift wrapping. We will also be collecting non-perishable food items for the Niles Food Pantry. Dates: Tuesday, November 1 to Friday, December 16

Niles Public Library- Fall Programs Schedule Attached
Attached is a flyer of all the Teen Programs (grades 7-12) for the Niles Library.

Niles Library Fandom Fest- Saturday November 19- 2:00- 4:00 pm
Registration Required
Niles Public Library is hosting their third Fandom Fest for teens on Saturday, November 19. This year, the event is Harry Potter themed with a 1920s twist in celebration of the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Costumes are encouraged but not required. In addition to photos in front of our green screen and a Cosplay parade there will be Tabletop Quidditch, Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit, Honeydukes-inspired treats and a temporary Dark Mark tattoo parlor. Policy and Procedure Manual
Teen Center staff recently developed a policy and procedure manual. The information included is intended for teens and parents, as well as staff, explaining our standard procedures of operation and explaining behavior expectations and consequences for teen participants.
Parents, please review this document with your teen participant. Thanks!

ID cards REQUIRED for TC Attendance
Remember, ALL Teens are REQUIRED to have and USE their teen center ID cards to CHECK-IN to the facility. Any need for a reprinted ID will be $5 each. If you don’t have your ID, you will create more work for Mark and he will have to manually check you in. The new MaxGalaxy software does not allow members to bypass the ID scanner, therefore ALL TEENS MUST USE THEIR ID CARDS TO CHECK-IN. Thanks!
