Speaker Series- Thursday, October 27 - 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Building Healthy Relationships
Angles, a non-profit youth health service, will provide a program emphasizing respect, trust, honesty and communication through a series of vignettes depicting real-life situations. Discussion includes bullying, prejudice, sexual harassment and sexual abuse.
Teen Movie “Night OUT”- Friday, October 28- 7:00-9:30 pm- $9 each
Exclusive offer for Teen Center members! Are you looking for something fun to do on Friday nights? We’ve got the answer for you: Teen Movie Theater Nights. Enjoy a movie at AMC Theater - Golf Mill for $9 (price subject to change). Please bring extra money for snacks during the movie. Pre-registration is not required.
Movie Choice will be decided on Wednesday, October 26.
Tile Art Project Continues- Theme is “WHAT’S YOUR PASSION?”
As part of the Niles Lights ON Afterschool event on October 20, all area school students are invited to create an art piece using the formatted paper provided by Square 1 Art. 100 pieces of artwork will be chosen as finalists. Each finalist’s artwork will be converted into a ceramic tile. The 100 ceramic tile art pieces will be mounted at Golf Mill Shopping Center as part of a permanent art installation. Artwork should be submitted to the Niles Teen Center no later than Friday, November 4. Winners will be announced with an unveiling ceremony in mid-February 2016.

Game Tournament- Foosball- Tuesday, October 25- 4:00-6:00 pm
Most Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m., the Teen Center staff will set up tournaments for video games and table games like Foosball, Air Hockey, Darts, NBA2K16 or Call of Duty 3. Prizes may be awarded to winners.
Girls Group- Wednesday, October 26 from 4:00- 5:00 pm
Have you had a rough week at school? Are you juggling too many responsibilities and feeling stressed? Having a conflict with a friend? Or maybe you just want to share ideas with other teens? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please join us for group! Girls group is Wednesdays from 4:00-5:00, and boys group is Thursdays from 4:00-5:00.
These groups are designed to meet the social and emotional needs of teens. They focus on improving self-esteem/self-image, communication skills, conflict resolution, reducing stressors and addressing other challenges teens face. The groups are facilitated by Nicole Espinoza and Darren Brown of Niles Family Services.

Ice Skating at Iceland Ice Rink- (Election Day-No School)
Deadline Tuesday, November 1
Join Nick and the Teen Center as we enjoy a day of ice skating at the Niles Park
District’s Iceland Ice Rink during their Open Skate hours. We will walk from Golf Mill to Iceland and skate from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The Teen Center will be open to skating participants only from 12:00 to 2:45 p.m. if they choose not to go home after ice skating.

Toys for Tots Program and Food Drive Begins on Tuesday, November 1
The Niles Teen Center, in cooperation with the Village of Niles, will participate in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves “Toys for Tots” program. We will be collecting toys to be distributed to less fortunate children in the Chicagoland area. Please do not bring any stuffed animals or home-made items. All toys must be in their original packaging and no gift wrapping. We will also be collecting non-perishable food items for the Niles Food Pantry. Dates: Tuesday, November 1 to Friday, December 16

Policy and Procedure Manual
Teen Center staff recently developed a policy and procedure manual. The information included is intended for teens and parents, as well as staff, explaining our standard procedures of operation and explaining behavior expectations and consequences for teen participants.

ID cards REQUIRED for TC Attendance
Remember, ALL Teens are REQUIRED to have and USE their teen center ID cards to CHECK-IN to the facility. Any need for a reprinted ID will be $5 each. If you don’t have your ID, you will create more work for Mark and he will have to manually check you in. The new MaxGalaxy software does not allow members to bypass the ID scanner, therefore ALL TEENS MUST USE THEIR ID CARDS TO CHECK-IN. Thanks!
