Back to School Dance on Saturday, Sept. 10- 6:30-9:00 pm
Grab your friends and dance away your back-to-school blues!!! Come to the Niles Family Fitness Center gym for music and dancing by Pro-Mix Audio and Lighting. There will be no entry after 8:00 p.m. and if you leave the dance, you may not re-enter. Open to 6th through 8th grades ONLY (or any current Teen Center member).
Date: Saturday, September 10
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Cost: $10 per person (includes 4 tickets for drinks and snacks)
Location: Niles Family Fitness Center
Game Tournament- J-Stars Victory- Tuesday, Sept. 6- 4:00-5:30 pm
Most Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m., the Teen Center staff will set up tournaments for video games and table games like Foosball, Air Hockey, Darts, NBA2K16 or Call of Duty 3. Prizes may be awarded to winners.
Thursday, September 8- 4:00-5:30 pm- Craft- BATH BOMBS
What’s hotter than a bath? A bath with bombs! To soak away a stressful day, all you have to do is toss a bath bomb into your tub. It will set off a fizzy reaction that releases super-relaxing essential oils. Plus, they make great gifts! Customize your bath bombs with your own fragrances and colors! This homemade bath bomb recipe can include your favorite essential oils, perfumes, fragrances and/or colors. Make some for yourself or for your friends.

Niles Community Block Party on Saturday, September 10
Come join in the fun at the 1st annual Niles Block Party. The event will include fun and games, bingo, food, high-energy demonstrations, scavenger hunt, bubble show and raffle prizes.

Time: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Place: Parking lots of Niles Public Library, Niles Senior Center and Culver School
Teen Programs at the Niles Public Library -
Marbles and Marshmallows- Friday, Sept. 9, 5:00-6:30 p.m.
Let the marbles roll and marshmallows fly! Designers will have their pick of recyclable materials to craft their marble runs and design marshmallow catapults. Work as a team or chose to work alone. Prizes for creativity and engineering ingenuity. Prior Registration Required at www.nileslibrary.org or by calling 847-663-6640
Girls Group begins tentatively- Wednesday, September 14 from 4:00- 5:00 pm
Boys Group continues on Thursday, Sept. 15 from 4:00- 5:00 pm
Have you had a rough week at school? Are you juggling too many responsibilities and feeling stressed? Having a conflict with a friend? Or maybe you just want to share ideas with other teens? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please join us for group! Girls group is Wednesdays from 4:00-5:00, and boys group is Thursdays from 4:00-5:00.
These groups are designed to meet the social and emotional needs of teens. They focus on improving self-esteem/self-image, communication skills, conflict resolution, reducing stressors and addressing other challenges teens face. The groups are facilitated by Nicole Espinoza and Darren Brown of Niles Family Services.

Friday, September 16- “In House” Movie Night- 7:00- 9:00 pm- $4 each
Come to the Teen Center for Teen Movie Nights. Stop by or call to recommend a teen movie. All movies will be PG or PG-13. Bring a pillow or blanket and make yourself at home. Additional snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Fee goes toward additional supervision. No sign-up prior to event is necessary.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (PG13, 2 hr 30 min, action/adventure)- Superegos battle in superhero fashion while a new threat emerges in this sequel to “Man of Steel”. With Batman decamping Gotham City for Metropolis to take on a Superman who’s become too powerful, trouble brews for the rest of humanity. (Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams)
The Divergent Series: Allegiant (PG13, 2 hour, SciFi/Adventure)- Based on the last book in Veronica Roth’s Divergent trilogy, this absorbing sci-fi saga follows Beatrice Prior and Tobias Eaton as they venture into the unknown lands outside of the walled city of Chicago, where they discover several shocking truths.
Kung Fu Panda 3 (PG, 1 hr 30 min, animation)- After Po is reunited with his long-lost dad, the two set off for a secret panda village, where Po must quickly teach his breather the art of kung fu when a villainous ancient spirit named Kai threatens all of China. (Jack Black, Angelina Jolie)
The Angry Birds Movie (PG, 1 hr 30 min, Cartoons)- Tracing the origins of the conflict between the Angry Birds and the Green Pigs, this film adaptation of the hit video game follows four Angry Birds who come to suspect an ulterior motive when the porkers first visit Bird Island. (Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride)

ID cards REQUIRED for TC Attendance
Remember, ALL Teens are REQUIRED to have and USE their teen center ID cards to CHECK-IN to the facility. Any need for a reprinted ID will be $5 each. If you don’t have your ID, you will create more work for Mark and he will have to manually check you in. The new MaxGalaxy software does not allow members to bypass the ID scanner, therefore ALL TEENS MUST USE THEIR ID CARDS TO CHECK-IN. Thanks!
