In the spirit of celebrating Arbor Day, the Village of Niles invites 4th and 5th grade students to convey their thoughts about trees in a poster contest titled Trees Grow with Us and for Us! The winner of the contest will be taken to lunch at the restaurant of his or her choosing along with the two runner ups. The top three posters will be revealed at the Village’s Arbor Day Ceremony hosted by Nelson School. Following the reveal, the posters will be displayed at Village Hall, winners will be mentioned at the April 26 Board of Trustee Meeting, and the winning poster will be featured in the summer Focus on Niles newsletter.
Posters must be original artwork from students currently in 4th or 5th grade. Student’s first name, last initial and school must be written in the lower right-hand corner of the poster. Collages and computer or photo-generated pieces are not acceptable. Entries should be done on white 11” x 17” paper.
