Starting on June 12, 2012, the City of Chicago will be installing new sewers on Harlem Avenue south of Touhy. Due to the construction, south bound traffic will be closed to all traffic except local traffic. The Niles Park District facility at Pioneer Park will be opened and accessible during the entire construction project. Construction will actually be based just south of the entrance to Pioneer Park. The construction is expected to last four weeks.
Traffic will be detoured from Harlem to E/B Touhy Avenue to S/B Milwaukee Avenue. From Milwaukee Avenue traffic will then be rerouted to Devon heading east to return back to Harlem Avenue.
