Helping Residents

Niles Family Services is the family counseling division of the Human Services Department of the Village of Niles. It was established in the 1970s to provide counseling services to Niles residents. The agency is committed to helping people contend with difficulties and resolve a variety of personal problems. The goal of Niles Family Services is to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Niles.

Niles Family Services provides assistance to people of all ages who live in the Village of Niles, including youth, adults, and older adults.


The Niles Family Services staff is headed by Darren Brown, director, and is made up of professional, licensed social workers. The staff is highly trained and skilled in working with the community including the residents, schools, businesses, and the police and fire departments.


There is a fee for services based on each family's income and size. We are now accepting Medicare. Health insurance will have to be pre-qualified.

Obtaining Services

In order to talk with a counselor, call Niles Family Services during office hours. We will help you determine the services that would be beneficial to a particular problem. We are here to answer any questions you may have, make an appointment, or provide information and referrals. All conversations and interviews are completely confidential.
