The purpose of the Public Arts and Culture Advisory Council is to assist, inform and advise the Village Board of Trustees on matters pertaining to the arts, culture and special events in the Village of Niles. This Council is established to assist the Village in furthering the arts, culture and special events and the annual allocation of budgeted funds.
MEMBERS – term of the appointment is for one year
The Council shall consist of 13 members, appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Village Board. At least six of said members shall have professional expertise in the various facets of the duties of the Council, by virtue of their training and/or employment. Said areas of expertise may include, but are not necessarily limited to, business, nonprofit management, arts, social or artistic events, Village heritage, diversity, and culture. The President shall appoint one of the individuals as the chairperson and may appoint no more than one employee of the Village.
