The Patrol Division is divided into two shifts with a and four watches. Each watch has a Commander in charge of the shift with a Field Sergeant to aid in that command. The patrol officers are assigned permanently to one of the watches.
The shifts are 12 hours, while one Watch is working the other is off. Each watch has an early car coming in at 5 am and 5 pm to overlap between the shifts.
The two Patrol Shifts are:
Day Watch 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Night Watch 6:00 pm to 6:00 a.m.
