Community Involvement

The members of the Niles Police Department are encouraged to be active members of the community and to participate in charitable and civic activities.

As a Department, the Niles PD actively supports the activities of the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics. There are fundraisers through out the year conducted by Law Enforcement members to raise funds for Special Olympics Illinois. In 2013, Niles PD was in the top ten of all fundraisers for the LETR in Illinois through the Polar Plunge, Cop on Top, Torch Run, and Plane Pull fundraising programs.

Members of the Niles Police Department also participate individually in other programs including St. Baldrick's charity for childhood cancer.

The Niles Police Department has members of the Chamber of Commerce and Sister Cities to maintain community involvement.
