Free Bus
MODIFIED SCHEDULE ALERT
ROUTE 410, 411 & 412
STARTS TUESDAY, MARCH 24, 2020
Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, effective Tuesday, March 24, 2020, the Niles Free Bus (Routes 410, 411 and 412) will temporarily operate weekday services on a Saturday/Sunday schedule until further notice. Service on Saturday and Sunday will continue to operate as scheduled.
This modification is being done to adjust for the reduced number of riders due to school closures, work-from-home mandates, and other consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
All routes will operate (410, 411 and 412) on a 7 day (Weekend Service) schedule. This will eliminate 3 runs of service, and shift start times from 6:33 a.m. to 9:33 a.m. (411), 6:43 a.m. to 9:43 a.m. (410) and 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m (412). We will maintain the number of buses on the road to allow for social distancing.
The reduced schedules will remain in effect until health officials deem the crisis has passed.
The Niles Free Bus is a courtesy bus system operation within the Village of Niles at no charge to riders. The Free Bus runs continually from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, and 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends. The buses stop at all major shopping centers, public facilities, and within a short distance of every residence.
