Meals on Wheels Northeastern Illinois is a movement of neighbors volunteering to deliver fresh, healthy and delicious meals to those who are unable to prepare their own food at home. The program serves not only older adults but also people with physical or cognitive disabilities, those who need help during a specific medical situation like recovering from surgery and individuals who have difficulty getting to the grocery store.
Meals are prepared Monday through Saturday
(including holidays) in the Evanston kitchen and delivered with the help of volunteer meal delivery drivers.
The program provides meal support for seniors on fixed incomes who are struggling to pay for housing, medicine, and food. Meal fees are based on a sliding scale based on monthly income. To register for meals, or volunteer, please call 847-332-2678 or visit www.mealsonwheels.org.
