Two major airports service Niles: O'Hare International Airport, 8 miles from Niles, offers direct flights to more cities than any other airport in the world, and Midway International Airport, which is located 18 miles south of Niles.  As another alternative, 9 miles away is Chicago Executive Airport, which is a regional airport accommodating private and corporate aircraft.

Trains…

Two railroad lines provide commuter service to Chicago with express trains reaching the Loop in less than 25 minutes: Metra’s Milwaukee District North Line and the Union Pacific District Northwest Line.  One may also reach CTA’s Blue and Yellow Lines (Chicago's "L") via public bus routes and Regional Transportation Authority (RTA).

The Pace Bus System services the local area and further facilitates travel from Niles to Chicago via rapid transit.  Pace also provides Niles commuters with daily transportation to other neighboring communities. As an added convenience, Village residents enjoy a FREE intra-community bus system known as the Niles Free Bus.

Major north-south roadways include: State Route 21 (Milwaukee Avenue), State Route 43 (Harlem Avenue) and Caldwell Avenue. Major east-west roadways include: State Route 58 (Golf Road), State Route 14 (Dempster Avenue), Oakton Street and Touhy Avenue. Interstate highways are just minutes away from Niles: I-94 (Edens Expressway) to the east, I-90 (Kennedy Expressway) to the south, and I-294 (Tri-State Tollway) to the west.
