The Village of Niles and its sister city Pisa, Italy established a pact on April 29, 1991. The two cities have gained cultural, educational, artistic, athletic and technical expertise by maintaining contact and building on the unique friendship that has strengthened over the years.
Pisa is located in the Province of Pisa on the northern border, and is situated on the banks of the river Arno. Pisa is a popular tourist center, well known for its Leaning Tower.
